Why should my staff be trained to make coffee?
Your guest’s first impression of the day is most likely to come from a cup of coffee from your in-house restaurant. Don't you want to get it right?
With local food and beverage cultures transcending international borders, people are becoming more educated and aware of what good coffee should taste like. While there are many factors that influence the flavor of a coffee such as the coffee bean, water pressure and milk temperature, one of the key determinants is the barista. It is important first and foremost that the barista understands what the coffee they are serving guests should taste like. Without this knowledge, it is difficult to produce a great coffee beverage. Then there is the coffee machine, the grinder and the many coffee varieties – Cappuccino, Espresso, Macchiato etc. – that need to be learnt.
Whilst it may seem simple, adding that extra touch to your service by making a great coffee can make a big difference in terms of guest satisfaction. Our courses teach you all you need to know to satisfy even the biggest 'coffee snob'.
How will The Coffee Gang’s program certify my team’s coffee expertise?
The Coffee Gang’s end-to-end barista training program covers all of today’s most critical topics, expanding your team’s knowledge and skills as they progress through the course. Upon completion of the training program, participants will receive a certificate of achievement that certifies their proficiency in essential coffee making and related skills and techniques. This credential proves to your clients and/or executive management that your staff has demonstrated expertise in all aspects of coffee making. All certificates can be customized with your company name and logo.
How long will it take my employees to complete this course?
The standard course consists of five modules and takes approximately 20 to 25 hours to complete. This includes 14 to 16 hours of practical exercises and hands-on training. The Coffee Gang’s standard course progression is one module per day enabling students to complete the full program within one week.
However, The Coffee Gang also offers customized training solutions which may mean a variation in the duration of the course. We work in partnership to design a course that meets your individual staffing needs. This may include variations from the standard course, instructor-led group discussions, additional training materials (such as company-specific case studies or team projects), an accelerated program for intense training or other changes to the course structure.
